Join us for Holy Week and Easter at Messiah.

Holy Week is the week leading up to Easter Sunday, and it calls us to contemplate the story of Jesus Christ's passion, suffering, and love for us. Holy Week begins with Palm Sunday on April 2nd. We will have Palm Sunday worship with Holy Communion at 10:30. We will gather outside the church on Palm Sunday and process into the church waving palm branches as we recall the story of Jesus' entry into Jerusalem.

Holy Week then continues with a celebration of Maundy Thursday on April 6th. This day invites us to remember Jesus' last supper with his disciples and the command that he gave to us: to love one another as he love us. We will have Maundy Thursday worship with Holy Communion starting at 7:00 PM.

Holy Week concludes with the solemn rememberance of Good Friday (April 7th) and Jesus' ultimate act of love and reconciliation for us. We will have a Tenebrae service at 7:00 PM. This service invites us to meditate on the seven last words of Christ.

As we pass with Christ through the passion and suffering of Holy Week, we then awake on Sunday, April 9th to the celebration of Christ's victory and resurrection! Join us at 9:00 for an Easter Egg hunt for the kids followed by breakfast and fellowship. A festival worship service with Holy Communion will be held at 10:30 AM.

Invite friends and family to join us at Messiah during this sacred time of year. For more details on all the Holy Week and Easter events, check out our events page. May the Holy Spirit strengthen you in grace and faith during this year's celebration and rememberance of Christ's death and resurrection.
