On November 1, Messiah Lutheran Church delivered a beautiful offering of love and service to our neighbors around the world:

  • 26 handmade quilts

  • 102 personal care kits

  • 8 baby care kits

These gifts were sent to Lutheran World Relief (LWR), where they will be distributed to families living through crisis, conflict, and poverty.

Each quilt began as a stack of fabric and hours of conversation, prayer, and careful stitching from Messiah’s quilting group and their helpers. The quilts provide warmth, comfort, and a tangible reminder that there are people here to help.

The personal care kits include basic hygiene items like soap, towels, and toothbrushes. The baby care kits help new parents care for their infants with essentials like clothing, blankets, diapers, and other simple items that can make an enormous difference in a child’s start in life.

This shipment represents many months of behind-the-scenes ministry: sorting donations, cutting and sewing fabric, packing kits, and loading boxes. It also reflects the generosity of those who donated supplies and those who faithfully show up, week after week, to serve.

Thank you to everyone at Messiah who helped make this possible. Together, we are living out our call to be the hands and feet of Christ across the world through our partnership with Lutheran World Relief.
