Join us for a special Sunday service that lifts up the Church’s call to public witness, justice, and faithful advocacy. Our service this Sunday will highlight and celebrate our synod's partnership with Texas Impact, a statewide, interfaith organization working for justice in Texas legislation and policy.
Texas Impact leaders from across the state will be joining us to share more information about the work of Texas Impact, to worship with us as we celebrate the Church's prophetic call, and to honor Pastor Franz Schemmel and Ann Hafften for their years of advocacy and commitment to the cause of justice in both church and society.
Texas Impact will lead an information session at 9:30 AM. At 10:30 AM we will have a festive service of thanksgiving for the ministry of public witness. The Rev. Phil Dieke, Texas Impact Board President, will be our preacher. Bishop Erik Gronberg will be our presider. Rostered leaders are welcome to vest in any liturgical color of their choosing. The service will be followed by a reception.
This will be a great opportunity for people in our synod to meet Texas Impact leaders and learn more about their work representing you as an ELCA member in Texas. All are welcome to join us as we worship, give thanks, and recommit ourselves to loving our neighbors through faithful public engagement.
